Dr. Melanie James
Dr. Melanie James completed her Doctorate at City University, London and qualified as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist in 2006.
Throughout her training and since qualifying, Melanie has worked in many different contexts across the NHS and private healthcare and is experienced in working with adults, children, adolescents and families.
During this time Melanie developed a specialist knowledge of eating disorders and the related skills and treatment approaches. She also has extensive experience working with depression, anxiety and relationship difficulties and a keen interest in helping individuals to achieve their full potential.
Melanie’s clinical and academic knowledge enables her to make use of a range of different psychological models such as CBT, Psychodynamic and Solution Focused Therapy.
Melanie’s main focus is engaging with her clients in a collaborative way, helping them develop a better understanding of themselves and their difficulties and enabling a process of change at a pace set by the client.

Qualifications & Accreditation
Melanie is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and has a Practitioner Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (CPsychol) which was awarded by City University London.
